Upcoming Xbox One games for 2022 and beyond

There are some really exciting Xbox One games to look forward to in 2022, many games planned for release across the Xbox family, and many Xbox exclusives scheduled for release in the next 12 months.

Even with the current-gen Xbox Series X and all upcoming Xbox Series X titles, many titles are making their way to Xbox One, including some of the most anticipated titles like Saints Row and Marvel’s Midnight Suns. So if you haven’t been able to get the latest Xbox console due to limited Xbox Series X stock, you still have a lot to do.

In this list, we’ve highlighted all the Xbox One games we’re really excited about and looking forward to. We’ve also sorted all listings by release date, so you can easily make your wishlist.

Release date: May 13, 2022
Gender: Survival Fear / Co-op

What is that? A four-player cooperative horror game based on the Evil Dead series.

Play as Ash and friends in this new survival horror game where you must work together to discover, loot and find key items that will help you bridge the gap between worlds. The locations and stories are inspired by the Ash vs Evil Dead TV show as well as all three Evil Dead movies.

two point campus

Release date: 9 August 2022
Gender: Yes

What is that? The newest management simulator from the team behind Two Point Hospital (and the original creators of Theme Hospital).

Two Point Campus is the next step in our journey into the Two Point universe as we transition from medicine to university. You will need to take care of everything from the design and layout of your new school to the intricate details surrounding the happiness and well-being of your students. It’s a much more personal level of simulation than before, and much more fun for it.

Rua dos Santos

Release date: 23 August 2022
Gender: Action

What is that? Reboot of Saints Row for the next generation.

Saints Row is back, but instead of the sequel to Saints Row 4, developer Volition is offering a more grounded reboot than the series has in years. You’ll discover the origin story of The Saints by replaying as a fully customizable boss with a small team. It will be up to you to decide what kind of criminal empire they build with the city of Santo Ileso – if you can outrun the other gangs of course.

TB 2022

Marvel’s Midnight Suns

Release date: TB 2022
Gender: Strategy

What is that? A new strategy game from Firaxis.

Imagine XCOM, but there’s a roster of Marvel superheroes to choose from, and you basically have Marvel’s Midnight Suns. You’ll play as The Hunter, Marvel’s first fully customizable character, and lead a selection of heroes from 12 characters against the Demons Mother Lillith. It’s the same turn-based combat you know and love from Firaxis, but on a whole new scale.

Vampire: Masquerade – Bloodlines 2

Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice

Hell Sword 2

release date: To approve
Gender: Adventure

What is that? Hellblade’s surprise sequel is coming to Xbox Series X.

Okay, so technically this is indeed for our list of upcoming Xbox Series X games, but we doubt it could be released in the Xbox One family as well. The sequel to Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is currently a mystery. Every frustrating trailer we have, we’ve got hints of another harrowing journey for our troubled protagonist.

Beyond Good and Evil 2

Release date: to be defined
Gender: Action-adventure, space exploration

What is that? Long (soooo) was waiting for the front part of the new generation classic.

Space monkeys. A vast sector of the universe to explore with your ever-expanding team. Gameplay ranging from ground level, action-adventure to full-scale interstellar flight. A densely textured, philosophically nourished civilization that explores slavery, control, genetic engineering, cultural cross-pollination and all the long-term, spiraling indirect effects that come with it. Beyond Good & Evil 2 may have put in the better part of 15 years, but Michel Ancel’s sequel feels much bigger, more exciting, and more thoughtful than we ever imagined.

Two Point Campus is the next step in the journey for the Two Point universe, as we move away from medicine and right onto college. You’ll have to look after everything from the design and layout of your brand new school to the intricate details surrounding the happiness and well-being of your students. Saints Row is back, but rather than a sequel to Saints Row 4, developer Volition is delivering a reboot that’s more grounded than the series has been in recent years. You’ll be exploring the origin story of The Saints, playing again as the fully customizable Boss with a small crew. Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2

Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice

Release date: TBCGenre: Adventure
What is it? A surprise sequel to Hellblade coming to Xbox Series X.
Okay, so technically this is really for our list of upcoming Xbox Series X games, but we have a sneaking suspicion it may well also launch across the Xbox One family too. The sequel, called Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, is a bit of a mystery right now. Every unnerving trailer we’ve had suggests another harrowing journey for our troubled hero though.
Beyond Good & Evil 2

Release date: TBCGenre: Action-adventure, space exploration
What is it? The long (looooooong) awaited prequel to the last-last-gen classic.
Space monkeys. A vast sector of the universe to explore with your ever-expanding ship crew. Gameplay that scales from ground-level, action-adventure to full-scale, interstellar flight. A densely textured, philosophically fuelled civilization that explores slavery, control, genetic engineering, cultural cross-pollination, and all the long-term, spiraling knock-on effects that come with that. Beyond Good & Evil 2 might have taken the best part of 15 years to appear, but Michel Ancel’s follow-up looks so, so much grander, more exciting, and more thoughtful than we ever imagined it could be.
