The first look at Across the Spider-Verse came out late last year when Shameik Moore reunited with Miles Morales’ Spider-Gwen (Hailee Steinfeld). It was also given along with the announcement that Across the Spider-Verse will have two episodes.

On the decision to split the movie in two, producers Phil Lord and Chris Miller told EW: “Miles’ story is epic. We wrote what we thought the story should be, and surprisingly we realized it was two movies instead of one.”

response to delay Miller wrote on Twitter: “More time to make it great.”

Despite the delay, there is some good news. The new vision date of Across the Spider-Verse Part 2 is March 29, 2024. Madame Web, starring Dakota Johnson, will be released on July 7, 2023.

This suddenly opens as an exciting year for fans of Sony Pictures’ Marvel Characters Universe (SPUMC). Madame Web and Across the Spider-Verse are scheduled to join Kraven the Hunter on January 13, 2023.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson plays the Spider-Man supervisor. Russell Crowe has also been given an unknown role in the film, which is currently being shot.

In more Sony planning news, The Equalizer 3’s release date has been given as September 1, 2023, which sees Denzel Washington return as Robert McCall.
