So who wants a homemade surprise box for Christmas?

Lets!

How to make a paper reindeer toy

What do you need:

  • brown cardstock (textured)
  • brown cardstock (plain)
  • red colored paper (or a red pompom)
  • white cardstock
  • black lining
  • scissors
  • Gum
  • circle shaped ruler

Used materials

step by step tutorial

Trace or print the box model you will need for the project.

Stage 1

Draw the same box design on the brown (textured) card.

step 2

Cut with scissors.

Stage 3

Fold the paper where the lines are.

step 4

Apply glue ONLY to the parallel folded parts you see in this photo (three of my fingers are pressing the folds and the sticky stick shows where to apply the glue).

step 5

Assemble the box and wait for the glue to dry.

Step 6

Close the box.

Step 7

Take plain brown cardboard and draw two boards.

Step 8

Cut them with scissors.

Step 9

Make a bend in each wood.

step 10

Apply glue to the horns and stick them to the box (glue one to the left of the box and one to the right).

Step 11

Draw two circles for the eyes and cut out the eyes with scissors.

Step 13

Glue the eyes to the box.

step 14

Take a piece of red colored paper and form a small ball.

That would be the reindeer’s nose. You can even wear a red-nosed pom instead of a piece of paper.

Step 15

Apply some glue on the red nose and stick it in the middle of the box, between the eyes.

step 16

Our reindeer should look like this. Now you can put goodies or a Christmas message inside the box.

step 17

We like to put beauties in it.
