What do you need:

  • our arctic animals pop up card templates
  • cardstock (white for card printing and red for background)
  • scissors
  • Gum
  • painting supplies if using a black and white card template

step by step tutorial

Print the pop-up card template – you can choose black and white for the kids to color first.

Or print it pre-colored and you’re done!

Cut out the card – cut along the outline (rectangle).

Fold it in half, following the dotted line on the card – the pattern should be on the outside.

Take scissors and cut along the full line past the penguin’s beak.

Along the beak you will see two diagonal dotted lines – fold along these lines.

Make nice, clean creases.

Open the map.

Push your fingers into the rear spout (non-design side).

Gently close the card (fold with the design inside).

Press down to make the crease nice and clean.

Get the “background card” – it should be the same size or larger as the background card.

Apply glue to half of the folded pop-up card and stick it to the red card.

Apply glue to the other half of the card…

…and close the red card. Wait for the glue to dry and press it.

finished! Your penguin pop-up card is ready!
