Paper Plate Penguin Craft

Learn how to make this funky looking paper cardboard penguin craft.

All you need is a paper plate and some imagination to make this winter DIY.

Today we decided to organize “World Penguin Day”. What do you think about that? Why not? We find penguins very interesting.

Have you ever seen them scratch their backs at ice flowers? It’s funny, isn’t it? It’s the only way to scratch, they don’t have soft hands like bears.

No hands, just two wings. And guess what? They can’t fly! What? True, but they can kiss and swim in the ocean.

Yes, penguins love to cuddle and swim which makes them super special birds.

Today we’re going to make Buddy Pow the paper plate penguin.

How to make a paper plate penguin craft

What do you need:

  • a paper plate
  • two wide-eyed stickers
  • white glitter self-adhesive foam sheet
  • bright orange self adhesive foam sheet
  • black acrylic paint
  • white acrylic paint
  • orange acrylic paint
  • pencil
  • circle shaped ruler
  • scissors
  • scrub

step by step instructions

Let’s add Buddy Pow to the swamp of the world’s penguins.

Start by drawing a circular shape with your pencil and end with a heart-shaped top as shown in the first picture.

Stage 1

head and face

Make a second circular shape. This would be the head and face of our penguin.

legs

Draw two paddle-shaped legs under the paper plate.

Stage 3

Paint the inside of the circle with white acrylic paint.

Paint the feet with orange acrylic paint.

Step 4-1

Then paint the rest of the area with black acrylic paint.

eyes

Take the wide-eyed stickers and stick them on your face.

Step 6

Nose

Cut a triangle from orange self-adhesive paper…

Step 7

…and add it as a nose.Step 7-1

Draw about ten different sized circles on the back of the black self-adhesive foam sheet (use your circle ruler)…

Step 8

…then cut them…

…and place them on the penguin’s body.

Draw two wing shapes with your pencil.

Step 9

Take your scissors and cut around the head, wings and legs.

The truth is that!

Now hopefully there’ll be some snow, so we’ll put Buddy Pow in the snow in the yard.

After that, let’s go around and pick up pebbles from the ground and put them next to Buddy Pow, his favorite toy to play with.

How to make a paper plate penguin craft
What do you need:
a paper plate
two googly eyes stickers
a sheet of white glitter self-adhesive foam
glitter orange self adhesive foam sheet
black acrylic paint
white acrylic paint
orange acrylic paint
pencil
ruler with circle shapes
the scissors
brush

Step by step instructions
Let’s add Buddy Pow to the world’s penguin waddle.
Start by drawing a circular shape with your pencil and end with a heart-shaped top as shown in the first image.

head and face
Make a second circular shape. This would be our penguin’s head and face.

Legs
Draw two paddle-shaped legs at the bottom of the paper plate.

Color the inside of the circle with white acrylic paint.

Color the feet with orange acrylic paint.

Then color the rest of the space with black acrylic paint.

Eyes
Take the googly eyes stickers and stick them on the face.

Nose
Cut a triangle out of the self-adhesive orange sheet…

…and add it as a nose.
Draw about ten circles of different sizes on the back of the black self-adhesive foam sheet (use your circle shape ruler)…

…then cut them out…

… and place them on the penguin’s body.

Draw two wing shapes with your pencil.

Take your scissors and cut around the head, wings and legs.

Fact!
Now we wait for it to snow a little, then we will place Buddy Pow on the snowpack in the garden.

After that, we’re going to go around and pick up pebbles from the ground and place them near Buddy Pow, as they are his favorite toys to play with.
