Frog Corner Bookmarks With Template

Encourage reading with these patterned frog corner markers. Print the pre-colored version or the colored version that the kids can color on their own.

Once inside the book, the frog will stick its stupid tongue out onto the page it marked. This is a great spring job to do in the classroom because it’s a quick, no-prep project.

How to make frog corner marks with a stencil

What do you need:

  • our do-it-yourself model
  • paper
  • scissors
  • Gum

step by step tutorial

Print corner mark templates. These work well with plain printing papers as well as heavier printing papers.

If you’re printing a black and white template for your kids, the first thing to do is to color the frog corner marker.

Once this is done or if you have chosen the black and white version, the next thing to do is cut the frog. Cut along the contour of the model.

On the template you will see some diagonal lines, some dotted lines and a full line. Cut along the full line on the template.

Fold along all the dotted lines on the template.

Make sure all wrinkles are clean as this will make this craft easier to complete.

You can also do the folds as you go – you don’t need to do it before you “fold”.

Now that your pleats are ready, turn the pattern so that it faces the folded work surface along the first dotted line. You will see the word paste.

Flip and fold again. The frog head should be looking at you.

This is what you should see now.

Turn the model over again, apply glue to the area marked with the word glue…

And fold the last triangle over it, press it down to let the glue dry.

All set, your Frog Corner favorites are ready to go into a book.

Simply place them in a corner of the page you are reading.

I hope you enjoyed making these frog corner markers with a template.

If you are printing out the black and white template for your kids, the first thing to do is color in the frog corner bookmark.

Once that’s done, or if you’ve gone with the black and white version, the next thing to do is cut out the frog. Cut along the outside line of the template.

You will see some diagonal lines on the model, some dotted and one full line. Cut along the full line on the template.

Fold along all the dotted lines on the template.

Make sure all the creases are neat as this will make this craft easier to complete.

You can also make the folds as you go – no need to do them before “folding”.

Now that your pleats are ready, flip the template over – with the template facing the work surface folded over your head – along the first dotted line. You will see the word glue.

Turn it over again and fold it. The frog’s head should be looking at you.

This is what you should see right now.

Flip the template over again, apply glue to the area marked with the word glue…
