Your kids love to get creative with their crayons and all those crayon splashes are adorable… why not use them as craft supplies?

Today we will use scraps of pencils to make a flower craft. Waste of pen, WHAT? !

We bet you always throw away the scraps after the sharpener and never use it to create great creations, right? Well, never throw it away again because it can be used for creative projects. This is a sweet spring craft idea for kids.

Combine your design with other recycled materials, such as sequins from old clothing (or other materials).

How to make shaving art with floral pencils?

What do you need:

  • different colored pencils (we recommend using elastic pencils for this project as the chips don’t crack easily)
  • Sharpener
  • colored pencils (green, yellow and blue)
  • Gum
  • black lining
  • small pieces of cardboard
  • pearls – optional

Used materials

step by step instructions

Grab your sharpener and start making round pencil shavings.

You can make some circles for a flower. Go easy and slow.

Stage 1

Make some flowers using different colored pencils.

Apply some glue to the bottom of the card.

Stage 3

Attach the beads and wait for the glue to dry. You can use various other materials or just draw the grass.

Apply glue to the two flowers and place them on the paper.

Wait for the glue to dry.

step 5

Draw a stem and leaf using a black pencil, felt-tip pen or pencil.

Step 6

Color the stem and leaves with a green colored pencil.

Step 7

Draw and paint small bells around the flowers. They will definitely add to the spring mood.

Step by step instructions

Apply some glue to the bottom of the card stock.

Attach the beads and wait for the glue to set. You can use a variety of other materials or just draw the grass.

Put glue on two flowers and place them on the paper.
Wait for the glue to dry.

Using the black pencil, marker or pencil, draw a stem and leaves.

Color the stem and leaves with a green colored pencil.

Draw and color tiny buzzers around the flowers. They are sure to add to the spring mood.
